Both clubs have built much of their identity on local championships that marked different eras of the sport in the country, solidifying their local standing with great achievements. Racing has accumulated 18 league titles between the amateur and professional eras, where its initial dominance is reflected in the nine championships won between 1913 and 1925, an unprecedented streak that cemented its status as a powerhouse in the early days of Argentine football.
